Ear reduction surgery is done to remedy the appearance of protruding ears.

Inconspicuous incisions are done at the back of the ear. Skin is removed, and a small file is passed to the front of the ear to gently score the cartilage, and the ear cartilage is folded back.

After the surgery, the patient should avoid straining, bending and lifting. The ear itself should not be bent for at least a month.
There might be some bruising but it typically disappears within 7-10 days. The stitches will be removed on the 5th to 7th day. Along the way, the patient could experience Headaches or observe some blood clots in the ear.
